🐎 Mazda 6 2.0 Petrol Engine Problems
The Mazda 3 was initially offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces a lowly 122PS, or a 1.8-litre turbodiesel with 116PS. The diesel was dropped just a few months after the car was launched, replaced by a clever 180PS (upgraded in late 2021 to 186PS in the e-Skyactiv X) mild-hybrid Skyactiv-X petrol engine which is said to provide
The 2.0 SkyActiv-G (Mazda's PE-VPS) is 2.0-litre four cylinders gasoline engine, and it was first introduced in 2011. The engine includes non-standard technical solutions, which is traditional for Mazda's engineering. The Skyactiv-G is based on predecessor the MZR 2.0 with a compression ratio of 10.0.
To all intents and purpsoes, a SkyActiv-X petrol engine is a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Mazda says it could do smaller or larger engines in principle – the tech
3) Over-Demanding Maintenance. Every engine requires proper maintenance. If you fail to watch the health of your vehicle, several problems could occur, including a total engine failure. Neglecting regular oil checks and changes is a common cause of engine or turbocharger failure.
Problem Description. A loud ticking noise (hydraulic valve lifter noise) may be heard from the top of the engine, particularly when the engine is still cold. The noise may occur more frequently on higher mileage vehicles; Hydraulic valve lash adjusters may need to be replaced to correct this issue. Following the maintenance schedule for oil

It's a pretty good and easy to maintain engine. The 2012-2015 Mazda 5 received a 2.5L inline-4, model L5. It is a solid and reliable motor.
1) Head Gasket Failure. Head gaskets seal the engine block and cylinder heads. They’re vital components in sealing the cylinders and keeping oil and coolant from leaking in. 1GR-FE head gaskets seem to fail most often around cylinder #6. They also typically fail over time rather than suddenly.
I guess its around 45-50 mph on the back roads, 20-30mph around town and a leisurely 60mph on the motorway in my defence I was driving to work,so not really in a rush to get there. My economy is never as good going back home 🤣. I average around 29 mpg around town in my 2104 6 touring.

High oil consumption, and from the very first kilometers of run. The Engine is picky about the quality of fuel – it is recommended to use gasoline of a brand not lower than AI-95. Otherwise, the fuel system will quickly become clogged and the ignition coils will fail. Working out on a plastic tension roller leads to breakage of the ribbed belt.
